Happy New Year

Hope everyone had a good holiday season and is looking forward to 2008.

Quick recap of the last bit of 2007.

- I got a new job. I am now a Business Operations Project Analyst or IT Infrastructure Coordinator or just a Project Manager, depending on what you feel like calling me. Everyone here uses a different term. Basically, I work with various departments to create and enhance system tools to meet business needs. I'm really enjoying it. Ask me if you want more details.

- Jess and I went to Disneyland. It was cold (especially after a lovely 7PM Splash Mountain ride). Her hat is cool. Check out her blog (link on the right).

- Watched P.S. I Love You and Charlie Wilson's War. P.S. was kinda boring for me (Jess liked it, as she's read the book). Gerard Butler is still freakishly buff. CWW is very entertaining. One comment: Lots of Walk-n-talk moments (it was a little too noticeable actually).

- got Call of Duty 4 for Xbox360. I beat it too and it's one of the most entertaining video game experiences in recent memory.

I can't stop myself, so I'll talk about COD4 now:

The game opens with a bang and gets crazier. There are some of the best and most shocking video game moments I've ever seen.

Being pinned behind a wall in a giant firefight is a gritty experience. Hearing the clink of a grenade makes me shiver. The atmosphere in that game is amazing. The excitement doesn't let up until the very end (watch the entire credits, btw).

Alright, back to work. Hope everyone has a very enjoyable and successful 2008.

Look, a blog!

I'm too lazy to figure out if I can put HTML into the title, so I'll do this for the one or two people who understand this:

[A New Blog Post]

Ok, anyway.

First off, I wanted to thank everyone for coming to the Crazy Hat/Silly Hats Only Potluck Party on Saturday. Jess did a really good job of planning it and she really gets all the credit.

Rock Band is a different experience with 4+ people. Wonsop and I have been playing it a couple times a week since it came out. We're pretty serious about it by ourselves, but it's an entertaining experience when you've got a room of 8-10 people singing and playing.

I hate Enter Sandman. It's too freakin hard on drums. I didn't play a lot of guitar that night. I rotated in with some people on drums and vocals. It was a great night.

On to some of the other recent news:

Assassin's Creed - It's way too repetitive and gimmicky. Anyone want to buy a used copy?
Super Mario Galaxy - It's really fun and actually doesn't feel too gimmicky. I haven't really played it since I got some other games though.
Mario Party DS - Contrary to what people may believe, I do enjoy Mario Party games. Mario Party DS is really fun and it's great to play with someone else. Jess and I have been playing this occasionally.
Mass Effect - Wow. This is a really intense game. My biggest issue is that they throw you into the world without any tutorial or explanation. I bought a strategy guide, but I haven't gotten that far into the game. I want to find a class that is enjoyable. I think it may be the vanguard class (medium armor, some biotic powers, short range attacks).

I have this weird blurryness when I play my 360. I think it's just my component connection on the TV, because I don't get the blurriness on cable or Wii. I want to get a new 1080p tv to take advantage of the new xbox 360 I just bought.

Anyway, that's about it. I'll post more later after some of the holiday events.

More nerdiness for your reading pleasure

We're back again for another dose of my randomness.

J finished her skirt and some socks. I'll help brag for her. They look amazing! Good job!

Got Heroes on DVD. J and I watched a couple episodes yesterday and the show is still amazingly entertaining. It's not just the hype. Can't wait for the new season.

Going to Lake Cranberry in a couple weeks on vacation. Can't wait to get away from work (which has been waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too stressful).

I got a Nintendo Wii a little while ago and so far, I've been playing 4 games.

1) Wii Sports - Probably the most fun of any Wii game out right now. Yay for tennis!

2) Super Paper Mario - Fun, cute, but really really really really really really really wordy. The game doesn't seem to have a lot of action either (I understand it's an rpg, but I can tolerate it more with an FF game than a Paper Mario game)

3) Zelda: Twilight Princess - Wow, this is a cool game. Wii controls are fun. Music is great. Story is a little weird at times. Very reminiscent of older Zelda games at times.

4) Just got Metroid Prime 3 - My hands hurt after the first boss fight. I was on the edge of my seat and totally into it. Controls are amazing. Only issue is that I got stuck on stupid non-action elements within 5 minutes of the game. Spending 30 minutes to find out how to get your access code to get through a door is not my idea of fun. My coworker also experienced a similar issue trying to fix a ramp to get upstairs. Really takes you out of the game.

Gadgets

I'm such a gadget whore!

I called up Gamestop yesterday and they had a Wii, so I bought it. Yay for me. I don't think I'll be playing it all day, every day, but it will be fun.

Work sucks. I just want to go home.

Anyway, bye

Laptop naming contest! Ends Friday 8/3/07

Hey everyone. Help me come up with a name for my laptop. It's sleek and black and sexy.

First place receives... my eternal gratitude.
2nd place receives... a cookie!

NEWS FLASH! I've just been informed that my prizes suck, so no one gets anything.

Anyway, this is the first post from my new Dell Vostro laptop. This is the first laptop I've ever owned and I am happy! Ask me sometime about the specs.

I really don't want to type anymore because I'd rather be playing with my laptop, so...

BYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
